July-August-September 2017

Sunday, July 2, 2017 Cleanup:
North Island via Winyet Bay
Low tide:  10:06 am

We will be focused on removing orphan crab traps from the South side of North Island.  You must have a boat or a seat on a boat to participate in this cleanup.   Please let us know if you are interested in participating.  If you have a boat and available seats let me know.

We will approach the island from the Winyet Bay and will be leaving the Cambell Marine Complex boat ramp on hwy 17 at 7:30 am. Make sure you bring insect repellent and a shovel if you have one.  If not, you can drag traps down to a collection point.

If each participating boat will just bring back 1/2 of a burlap bag (provided by Wounded Nature) full of trash and 2 crab traps, we will make a huge impact on this island.  It is summer and the weather will be hot and humid, we want this to be a fun and low key cleanup with strenuous beach cleanup activity kept  to a minimum.

We will be providing hot dogs and beverages for all participants.

This is a very informal gathering of our volunteers and supporters– the later you stay the more informal the evening gets.
It is a great chance to meet us and see who we are and what we do.

BRING A FRIEND – if you know of someone who wants to volunteer, ask them to join us on Wednesday.
I hope you will come out , meet some interesting people and make some new friends. This is a Dutch event where everyone pays their own tab.
