Wounded Nature-Working Veterans is making a significant impact on America’s coastlines.
Volunteer for Beach, Tidal Marsh, and Coastal Clean-ups
Our volunteers have filled numerous tractor-trailer-size dumpsters full of treated wood, tires, debris, and trash. Items such as orphan crab traps that have washed up into turtle and shorebird nesting areas have been dug up and repurposed. Plastic waste, previously thought to be indestructible, has since been found to break down within a year of it hitting the seawater.
Education
Wounded Nature’s publicity educates people about the need to keep our beaches, estuaries, and oceans clean. Our blogs, press releases, and media appearances will repetitively stress these points.
Environmental Issues
Coastlines are treasured for their natural beauty, the recreational opportunities they offer, and the economic benefits that result from such coastal industries as tourism, shipping, and fishing. Trash and debris are a constant threat to our environment.
Our Work-Some Past Accomplishments
We are trying to fix ocean trash and debris problems in critical wildlife habitats. Cleaning public beaches benefits the travel and tourism industry. Cleaning and helping to discard abandoned boats that litter our rural coastal areas benefit wildlife and the community.
