Wounded Nature-Working Veterans and Senator Chip Campsen Remove Sunken Boat at Bennett’s Point

South Carolina State Senator Chip Campsen served as Wounded Nature-Working Veterans volunteer boat captain on August 16, 2022.

We worked together to support the efforts of TowboatUS Savannah and the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources to remove a sunken 29’ cabin cruiser near the Bennetts Point boat ramp.

Dana from Towboat showed all of us some clever redneck boat removal techniques which will remain confidential (including the use of a garbage can lid).

Not everyone gains their towing experience by pulling TowboatUS off the edge of a marsh where they drifted while attached and pumping the sunken boat. But, Senator Campsen went with the flow of the ups and downs of getting a sunken boat out and was a great asset to have aboard today.
