Gateway National Recreational Area, Floyd Bennett Field, New York

On a chilly, windy, and very wet day, Wounded Nature-Working Veterans and more than 120 extremely determined volunteers made a difference on New York’s coastline. They did not complain (even during the driving rainstorm that blew through) and worked hard to remove tons of trash and debris from this national park.

Most of the volunteers came from Party City and their associated companies. Also participating in the cleanup were Naval Sea Cadets.

This cleanup was the park’s “I Love My Park” day and a video of this cleanup can be seen on our YouTube channel.
