South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) instigated this sunken boat removal. Towboat US, Charleston managed the removal and the rest of the derelict boat removal village supported Towboat’s efforts. That included: Land and Marine, Helldivers, off-duty SLED divers, Salmons, SC DHEC, SC DNR, and, of course, Wounded Nature-Working Veterans.
It took four days – she was one tough cookie. The important thing is, no one got hurt and she is now in a landfill. This boat had no rudder, propeller, or steering wheel and pedestal.Â
This was the 85th boat we were involved in sending to the landfill. We did not count the dingy in the photos but that was also removed.
